Question Telstra DNS

Has anyone noticed major issues in resolving even Google IPs via Telstra DNS servers? It started a couple of weeks ago but it's getting worse now. At least in Sydney metro. Any Bigpond/Telstra users out there with similar problems?

Hey mate,

Most of my clients are on Telstra Business and haven't had many problems. Could it be your router? You could try running 'ipconfig /flushdns' not sure that will do much though.
Try using 8.8.8.8 as your primary DNS and see if that keeps dropping, if it does it's your router and not Telstra's DNS.

Done all of the above. Also been using Google servers on 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for the past few weeks. I've also checked at different sites, Liverpool, Seven Hills and around Burwood. Same issues.

Hmm, could it be a line error?
If you run 'ping google.com -t' and 'ping 150.101.18.112 -t' and see if one drops, if the google.com one keeps timing out and the 150.101.18.112 ping continues then it's 100% a DNS problem and forget about a line error.

'ping google.com -t' occasionally times out but not significantly, 150.101.18.112 is fine. I'll have chat to the techs on Business support see if it's a line issue. With the rain we've been getting the joiner boxes are bound to play up. They always do in our area.

61.9.194.49 and 61.9.195.193 are the Small Puddle Cable DNS here and seem to be OK. Can you see them?

First thing I've checked Yeah everything on the same network is equally affected. Tried latest IE11, Firefox and Chrome. Same timeouts on iPad safari as well. Going through the same gateway (wireless)
