Anyone out there using TSX COA, SSAG for guiding and CCDAP5?

HI guys.

I'm trying to automate my set up and I'm having a pig of a time.

It seems that either the driver that Software bisque have written doesn't support "reverse y after meridian flip", or this camrea is does not support this feature. Is anyone successfully doing meridian flips with this set up.

CCDap5 will go through all the motions when I run a session, it will slew, plate solve, re-position right upto the point where it needs to start guiding and then ccd ap crashs. I've attached the log file if you care to see.

John from CCDWare suggested I contact SB with this info as he reckons the guider is not reporting properly. I've left a thread on the TSX forum but so far it has not been answered, and its been a couple of days now.

Has anyone used a SSAG with CCDAP5?

Thanks
Sandy

Hi,

I am using CCDAP5 to command Maxlm, TSX, FocusMax, PinPoint, and cloud sensor almost with no trouble.

As far as I know, CCDAP would handle many things include meridian flip, hence within Maxlm guide I unchecked Pier flip and in pier flip option, leave it as "do not change", not sure if it is the cause of crashes though.

Regards
David

The whole problem is the SSAG. While a good guider for most things it is going to be best if you get a Loadstar or STi. You will get really reliable results from either of those cameras. SB is not going to write some code to suit. It is not the way they operate in my experience. I found that the SSAG would produce very unreliable results with automation.

If you don't want to buy a new camera maybe look at new software. I don' know if Sequence Pro Generator would work better for you, but using the trial might give you some options.
