Another Nova Cen 2013 - Revisited

Unfortunately it is in the direction of worst sky glow from here. I've wiped some of the gradient and solved it.

Sony SLT-A77V + Sony SAL1650@50mm, 8 sec, f/3.5, ISO 1600, Dec 8 03:26 AEDT.

If it wasn't cloudy with scattered showers I'd consider putting on the Sigma 150-500 and having another go.

Great job, well done.
I'm still waiting for the clouds to disappear.

David, this was done with astrometry.net. I run it on my Win7 laptop under Cygwin. Also on my Linux box which I have yet to put it back together after the move. That means I can run plot-constellations with additional options to those you get if you use the web version - eg mark up more NGC objects. The Linux version puts Greek letters in where Cygwin just puts the "unknown glyph" boxes you see in this image. Then GIMP to label the nova.

Ingrid, it's clear here now. Who can say what will happen by 3am tomorrow.

I ran the image through my Linux version of astrometry.net to fix the Greek letters.
