Pipe Nebula

I've done a repro of the Pipe nebula I took a while ago, what do you reckon?

28x128 sec subs with unmodified Panasonic GX-1, 85mm lens at F4.

I've included the old version to show the comparison.

Check out the large Here.

Cheers
Jo

Excellent photo and nicely processed. The early version was clipped at the black end of the histogram, bringing out more contrast but making the background blacks way too dark. New version is great.Well done.

Thanks Graeme

Yes, it was quite hard trying to keep the dust from going black, I'm glad you think it worked out alright

Geez, that repro is nice. You've respected the light - no clipping of black or white and no crazy stretching or over saturation. That said, you could go a little darker, it looks a little over smoothed in the dark areas in the high-res image, but hey I love it! Congrats on a great image.

Another great image Jo. Your reprocess has a much more natural look to it, great work.

Good to have your opinion, I'll have a bit more of a fiddle.
