Bonnie Vale Star Trails

A couple of my friends organised a father-son camping trip over the weekend at Bonnie Vale Camping Grounds in Royal National Park. It was all good fun but Saturday was cloudy and thought i'd never be able to do star trails that night.

Luckily, nature called at 2am and when i got out of the tent the sky was already clear. It was rather cold and I was assigned to prepare breakfast early so it took me a while to decide if i should do star trails. 'what the heck, i'll do it anyway.'

i set my camera low to the ground and made the intervalometer settings. I set it to 20 x 2.5mins to give me 50 mins worth of exposure.

To give a sense of perspective, mine is the orange tent good for 2 people about 10 meters away and the blue one is good for 5 i think, about 3 meters away.

The tent in the foreground puts it into perspective.
Great job, well done.
