M11

Hi Folks,

Went searching in vain for M16 last night, but that elusive Eagle was hiding from me but I managed to trip over M11, the Wild Duck Cluster instead.

It's my third attempt to find M16, and it's such a dark region of space to the naked eye.
Any tips on getting my synscan EQ6 goto v3.27 more accurate would be most welcome, because I really can't tell what star pattern I'm looking for...

Anyway, here is what I have - 11 x 5 min subs, darks etc.

Thanks for that, have borrowed a bunch of star chart atlas' from the library today, should be able to find M16 now, if it ever stops raining!

Thought it might be interesting to push and stretch the M11 data a little further on this image - that's a heck of a lot of stars there

You're not wrong. I've been following a variable in this field, IT Scutum. The finder chart from AAVSO looks like a bowl of rice ...
