Double Island Point (QLD)

After planning for 6 months I finally got to go - Even if I have to be back at 2am, didn't plan well enough, and am now very tired - Did learn a heap though. !!

Standard settings - D800, Iso 3200 (or 6400 ;-), f2.8, 30 seconds (or longer ;-) 14mm.

There is a three part posting on Facebook.
Part I
Part II
Part III

These are my two favorite(s) to date... (oh, ok three, yes I know there are 4 I couldn't stop!!)
Feedback appreciated !

Love the figure of eight!

Great ideas and execution, but the next time you make the journey, take some longer exposure shots of the foreground as well to mask in, or if you prefer the un-cut approach, take along a wide beam 12v floodlight to paint some extra foreground detail.

I think you should be pretty pleased with yourself though

Great work. My only comment would be the proportions and geometry of the image is fine at 2:1 or close to it, but there are stronger geometry's for an image like that.

Greg.

Help Me Greg - I don't know what you mean!
Narrow, wider, tilt, crop the ground?
Can you point me to a reference or example - you can't leave me hanging!! Thanks heaps for the feedback.

The shot I was after was more of a horizontal beam but I was too early in the night or too late in the year! (might have to put that as my signature!!)
