Something incredible has happened - ITS CLEAR!!!! not a peep of cloud anywhere (well except for SE qld)

I really really hope that the fog holds off for a few hours . i havent used the Doghouse for DS shots in over a year.....

good luck David, are you giving the EQ8 a crack?

its clear down in melbourne, but the wondering whether its worth dragging the scope out, jetstream off the charts and windage @ 25-35km/h (i'm domeless).

then cloudy till next wednesday apparently

enjoy

ok the dew is horrid and the fog is rolling through the swamp and is in the gully across the road. its only 7.30.

unfortunately no eq8 tonight I have a few jobs to get done- just fixed the internet up for up the back and the observatory hasn't been working for couple of months- I am in here now currently 14.9 degrees inside the observatory and 7.3 degrees outside, dewpoint is 7.8 degrees humidity inside observatory was 64% and outside was 92%.

Nice and clear here, I'm not out tonight though....

I could make a nice gif animation of my sliding-off-to-the-left histogram last night as something dewed up in my imaging chain though!

My favourite local weather site has slapped a ban on me so i can't access their forecasts and updates. LOL ( I'm such a naughty girl) it's a shame, because Geoff Higgins is such a skilled amateur meteorologist. His long range forecasts were at times uncanny.
I have to rely on BOM and Weatherzone now.
Or just walk outside and see if it's cloudy or not. LOL

If anyone buys a telescope this week they'll be lynched if the weather turns ugly before Sunday.

Clear here in Adelaide. Have not had the scope out in ages.. Was forgetting how to set it up.. Got all happy and dragged all my gear out into the yard. Started imaging the Butterfly Neb and then the wind came up.. PHD looks more like a VU Meter at a rock concert.. Bugger!

Oh well at least im getting practice. It will get better in time. Sigh!

quite true - its a bit of a stiff breeze out there ATM, but hey i am optomistic , well rather skeptical actually

one thing dawned on me though - something very very important. I need to get my gear together for Astrofest, that included plucking the foam and getting the gear ready for the trip in their new cases. I will sort out the software problems on the way, heck i might even get a photon or two

Did also think of setting up the C11 and hyperstar.....but i havent even had a decent play with the EQ8 - and i need to upgrade the software on the controller......AARRRGGGG the pressure.......
