A bit tongue in cheek, but this reflects more what the Moon looks like to the unaided eye. It is still quite bright in the sky and larger than normal, but not the huge Earth-shatteringly big orb that some composite photos portray. By composite, I mean those images which have the Moon photographed at a much longer focal length superimposed on a wider angle landscape shot.
