Aligning stacked planetary images.

I had a play with this qhy5L2 last night and caught some mono saturn video early in the morning. It looks like the camera angle moved/changed at some point so Blue does not line up with Red/Green. I would have thought Autostakker would have done this but it won't. I can screw it round in photoshop but the result isn't as good as I'd like.

Is there any software that will fix this?

Will Registar do this after stacking? If I remember correctly after stacking you can shift each colour frame independently to give proper alignments.

Couldn't get it to do it for me allan, Registak doesn't want to know about it either. I'll try getting them to a fits file and see if maxim will do it. At least I know not to mess with the camera mid sequence now

WINJUPOS should allow you to match up skewed R,G,B images and then combine them - the image measurement process (adj.) rotates the three channels to present the ring pattern horizontally aligned and the combine process (under tools) then corrects for planet rotation over your imaging period. Be prepared for a steep learning curve though. Piotr Malinski did a good tutorial on the parts of it that you will need to use, but the package is not user friendly - very powerful though.

No joy there Ray. It will be easier to get another 5 minutes of video preferably with a osc
I think I should try a window smaller than 640x480 too.

I took the liberty of pulling your jpeg apart in IRIS and re-assembling it in WINJUPOS - hope you don't mind. It's OK data and you should be able to do quite a bit better using some drizzled originals rather than jpeg and with a bit more care on alignment.
