Looks comfy, but I wonder how long the batteries last. I notice they only say "stay warm for hours" Under what conditions and how many hours? Tht would be the first bit of information I'd want to know before forking out $300.

A freezer suit does the trick for me, no batteries (passive heating!) and toasty warm, cost a bit over $100 when I bought mine. They're good enough to use in Antarctica. See discussion in this thread

Funny i tried one of these types of Vests on last Thursday at work. I was meeting with some guys from a company that distributes phone chargers and he has several other products he is thinking of distributing and one was this vest. Dont remember the brand but it has Lithium-Ion batteries, and i can tell you that it certainly worked and heats up fast!
But i am like the others plenty of warm stuff to wear already

used my 30 dollar snow boots for first time last night (had had em for a while) flippin awesome, especially in addition to the ski pants, dont why I didnt get them years ago?

As Ving has said a few of us at M.A.S. use the freezer suits that you see people use in the freezer units at super markets.
Hepworths are the suppliers here in Sydney ( Ingleburn ).
You can buy the suit as a one piece or as seperate pants and coat, they both come with a lined hood.
They also sell lined boots ( very comfy & warm ) called Huskies.
Suit and huskies were about $180. huskies about $50.
I used my gear at our very dark sky site last winter at Berrima and again at the Magellan Observatory, Goulburn. The temps were hovering at about -5c and I was as warm as toast John

My polar fleece long johns keep me warm. The material is so soft and comfortable. I also made a polar fleece muffler for my neck.
They kept me warm the other night when the temp dropped to -2.
