Well it seems to be the theme for today, so I thought I'd share my first asto pic taken through my new ng ed80, and yep you guessed it, it's m42 :-)
After many other nights of frustration with the mount, problems with attaching finders, and actually getting a night where it was cool enough to set up outside without melting, I finally managed to capture some photons!
Very basic polar alignment, no guiding ect, so could only manage 10s subs.
Still wrapping my head around processing so I know there's loads more that can be done.
10 x 10s lights @ 1600iso
10 x 10s darks
NG ed80

Eq3
Dss and gimp 2
As I said it's very basic, but it's definitely got the juices flowing :-D
Hi Chris,
It looks like a great start. I haven't started yet, and am still solving some of the hitches you referred to. I am encouraged by your success!
