Total from Pacific Dawn, port douglas

Hi Guys, not the easiest picture to get with the ship moving around etc. We were also fighting a cloud... but I got to see it, my first eclipse. Strange, very hard to hold back emotion and I was in a strange state of mind for a good 20mins afterwards.

I was also joined by astronomer Peter Anderson

I was looking at the Pacific Dawn through my scope yesterday afternoon when I saw it out at sea.

Great pic, the shot of the eclipse fighting through the clouds sums up the experience for alot of us

Cool, My cousin called me and she is at the beach at port douglas, I got her to stand next to a landmark and I took a picture of her from the ship Gotta love telescopes and cameras hey, "Woah you can see that far, my $xxxx lens cant do that"heheh

On another note it would appear I captured a prominence? Its for real and not a strange artifact as its in most of my images. take a look and let me know.

Thanks for all the comments so far, first eclipse, first cruise

Yep, I'd say it is the same loop prominence that I have in the top of this pic I took

Doing the eclipse in style. Sounds like a great way to see it.
