Eclipse Port Douglas...

Looked at many location options prior to the eclipse.... should have gone inland.

Thankfully, the gear all worked *really well* which is more than I can say for the weather. Passing showers the previous night did eventually clear, hence I'm also thankful we at least got to see the event.

Thick and thin cloud obscured the view, but it was still a marvelous sight, sample attached.

Certainly was a hit and miss along the coast. Great image nonetheless!

That's a great shot...

I'm thinking the cloudy shots look like they should be on a poster for the "2012 Doom and Gloom End of the World" fanatics...

only 37 days to go !!!

Hi Peter, I really like that shot.

Agree with previous post that it looks very ominous. Maybe you should photoshop Dracula in the background!!!

Can guarantee you'd have success!

Ta. Learnt a lot from this less-than-perfect eclipse weather..suspect it will be useful for 2016

I heard Port Douglas got a raw deal too with the weather but at least you got totality in a sucker hole. Very cool pic. Nicely framed
