T-Ring Canon

I have recently purchased a Canon 60D to start the "endless" journey into Astophotogrphy. I will be spending the next few weeks (or months) learning how to use it, before attaching my scope.

My question is in relation to a t-ring. When checking the web for prices, brands, quality etc, I found them advertised with two different descriptions.

T2 or M42

Both claim to fit Canon EOS including the 60D, and the pics look like they are the same unit.

Is there actually any difference, or is it the same product simply described differently?

Different, you want the T2 ring, which is 42x0.75mm. The M42 is 42x1.0mm
