Focuser

I can't believe it's this difficult to find a METAL focuser to suit a 90mm refractor/OTA... Is there anybody out there, with a focuser that has an 89mm diameter mounting flange - ie, to fit tube with 89mm internal diameter? If you have an 'old' 90mm refractor (Meade, Synta, etc) from about 10-20 years ago, I would be very interested to hear from you... Regards, Andy

You can also look in the classifieds of Cloudy Nights. If you can't find what you are after, join "CN" and ask. Being USA based, the sheer numbers of people there should see some one cough one up.

Hmm, I might have one at home. Bought it for a project that did not eventuate but not sure of the flange measurement. I'm out tonight but I'll try and do a measure and let you know tomorrow if it is the right diameter. It's 2" with 1.25 adapter crayford in excellent condition, cream white with finder dovetail slot.
Get back to you.

Sorry Andy, flange diameter is 96 mm. I knew it didn't fit my intended OTA recipient which I thought was 86 mm but obviously isn't. Good luck with your hunt.

focuser

I have a Meade 80mm series 5000 two speed crayford 2" focuser I removed to fit a Moonlite. I will measure it this weekend. It's a solid focuser.
Graham.

re: focuser

(Sorry guys, I haven't checked my mail for a few days...) Many thanks, Brent, for your efforts... Graham, if the (focuser) mounting flange dia. is 89mm (+/- 0.5mm), please give me a call... Alexander, I took your advice and checked out the US website - very interesting... Andy
