New photography interest

Hi everyone
Over the past few years I have been concentrating on deep sky imaging. I am no longer doing any astrophotography and have taken a new direction and I now spend my time on landscapes and bird photography.

Here are a couple of images taken recently hope you like them!

I thought something was up when you were selling your gear, thought you may have been on the upgrade path. Will be a shame not to see any more deep sky images from you.

I really like these photo's and look forward to seeing more!

Good photos David - and I'm in the same boat as you. I'm about an inch away from offloading all my astronomy gear as well to go fully terrestrial again.

Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful images, guys. Nicely exposed with subtle highlight and shadow mottling in the background; helps give the image a bit of dimensionality.

Let's see some of those landscapes.

Question: how did you guys get so many comments on pbase in such a short amount of time! I get nothing.

H

Will post a couple of landscapes next.

In answer to your question, " maybe we spend too much time online " !!!!

The Honeyeater one is particularly sublime. A nicely blurred and interesting coloured background and the very colourful bird makes for a great shot.

What setup are you using?

I found my TEC110 is a good scope for bird shots but its not particularly portable for lugging around in the bush. I suppose I could only just.

I'd estimate I could get that scale of shot from about 35 metres away which is a nice distance for birds that tend to be skittish.

Greg.

I'm just glad to hear you're both ok.
Was wondering when all the gear went up. Your astrophotography is missed, but glad life is being enjoyed!

Hi Greg

These shots were taken with a 40D and a Canon EF 70-200 f/4L.
Thanks for the great comment on the Honey eater.

Your TEC110 looks very impressive, but at this stage light gear seems to be a good option for us.

David.
