Historic castle burns in Slovakia

I loooove castles, and never got to see this one, but very sad with it sustaining a lot of damage in a fire.

That was a huge fire Liz.
Didnt look like much room for a fire engine up there.
Such a shame.

That is an amazing loss.
I wonder if it was full of 14th century items?

My family has a Castle in Scotland (it has passed to my Mother), and my Niece took a photo of it while she was in Scotland.

She managed to find a few Stone blocks to photograph amongst the vines and weeds
Such a waste.

Wow, Ken, that is amazing, the history in those stones!! Did you ever manage to go there? What part of Scotland?

90% of the contents was saved.
It seems 2 kids accidently started the fire. It was hot enough to melt 2 of the bells in the bell tower.

I love castles too.

good to hear, though wonder how the structure is, those bful toweres were ablaze.

I tried to see as many castles as I could in Spain, jjj, just was a bit tricky when relying on the bus and train. I did pretty well, with about 20 I think.

I was at that castle only a few months ago for my brother's wedding. I got teary watching that video. So glad to hear most of the contents were saved.
