An unexpected few hours of clear sky enabled me to knock this up in relatively quick time. It's an object I've never imaged before so I hope I've done it some degree of justice. It's probably the farthest south photogenic planetary in the sky. At least I don't know of another one.

Cheers

Steve

Nice mate. Great colour and interesting detail within the PN. There is a bit of a dark ring around the outside of the PN of say about 5mm (apparent size), which looks like a masking issue. Other than that I really like this image.

Very nice! Looks great with the wide field surrounding the nebula. A jewel in space.

Hi Steve,

A great sharp photo.

You have captured an amazing amount of detail and colour.

Thanks.

Thanks for the comments guys. As always they are very much appreciated.

I see the monkey face Mike! I must admit I have trouble seeing some of your animals but this one was pretty obvious. Of course the monkey picture helped.

Paul - the dark ring was as a result of me trying to force the contrast in the nebula too much. Hopefully I've fixed it up now,

Cheers

Steve

Actually visualisation ability is not the same in everyone, some people are better than others - a physiological/psycological fact. I worked with a girl who couldn't visualise things, if you asked her to imagine a birthday cake with pink iceing and a blue ribbon etc she would really struggle, aparently a small percentage of the poulation can't really visualise at all.
