Canon 500/550D wanted

Anyone have one of these that is sitting in the cupboard and not being used??

Body only is fine.

If you're looking for an astro camera, I don't recommend the 550d. It doesn't work too well at high temps and humidity.
For day use it is perfectly OK though.

It's up to you though. I was following your convo on FB about it. And maybe it would be ok for what you want.
I've gotten some pretty good pics out of mine, but I've also had some horrendous failures.
I just couldn't let you buy one without letting you know of my experience.
It would be good if you could borrow one, try before you buy. See how it works for you.
Because how I use it, will probably be different to you.

Liz, you would be better off looking for a good condition 40D IMO.
