How did you get your screen name?

My screen name was because of a distinct lack of imagination.
DavidU........ mmmmm
Now Strongman Mike makes sense, how did you come up with yours?

Originally mine was "Rocketboy", from the movie "October Sky" and because I also fly model rockets.
Everyone called me RB for short, so Mike changed it.

So RB it is.

my given name and first letter of my surname - being really creative, it's in lower case! It came from a dictated email address yonks ago and it has stuck with me.

Of course, everyone thinks I am an "Erick"! No, it's the good old Norse "Eric". (Mind you, Erick and Erik are known variants.)

I should have gone for my initials ("EEK") with a few extra "E"s thown in:- "EEEEEEK" (No-one pinch it now - it's going to be my personalised number plate one day!

I have often been known as "Eccles". I have also had "Stumbo" (a painful childhood memory) and "Stork". I could live with the last one. A test of age - who knows where that last one might have come from?

when i was a kid watched bill peach's travel show on abc 'peach's australia' i think he used to start out with the memorable line 'australians are a nation of fringe dwellers' referring to our coastal living fetish of course, and adelaide is even more on the fringe - as the great GREAT PK once said at the arse end of the (inhabited) world metaphorically/geographically speaking of course

"Piggo" is the nickname inherited from my father based on our surname.

I kept forgeting whatever handle I picked as none had any relationship to anything so I selected my name backwards as most times I can remember who I am..and my name is on mail I get so I rarely forget it..if I have my glasses handy of course.... and when I cant remember my name or read it even with glasses then I should not be chatting on the net in that condition anyways.

Mine used to be the CB callsign I used when I was "picking up chicks" back in the late 80's, add to that because I am in Electronics/Telecommunications I always was taking crap apart and either Tim the Toolmanning things to make them have more power (like the CB) or fixing or disassembling stuff.

So there....

Cheers

Chris

My screen name is the same name as my Air-conditioning/Refrigeration company. " Coldspace".

It suits my business name as we make spaces cold, and it suits my Astronomy hobby as it is cold in space.

Regards Matt.

I was in an online racing club, where we would race V8 Supercars every week. We all ended up building our own simulators and bought steering wheels and pedal kits, etc. We all then decided that we needed to have cool names as a lot more people were jumping on line to play and there were too many Bills, Davids, Johns, etc. I couldn't have Megatron or Starscream or Optimus Prime as they were all taken by people I've never seen online at all, ever, so we came up with this, and it has stuck.
When my back isn't too sore, I still get on and have a few laps.

By the way RB, what a fantastic movie of strength, determination and self belief. Been trying to get a copy for my collection.
