Question about Skywatcher finder scopes

Looking at swapping my straight-through for a RACI. I've found a GSO 8x50 at Andrews Communications and another at BINTEL - both appear to be the same. Can I do a straight swap, or do I need to replace the entire metal base, i.e. are they universal?

Cheers
Wade

I purchased a right-angle finders from Bintel and was able to swap one for the other but not the other way around.

I haven't used the straight through one for a long time so I haven't had a need to change the base but now I do want to use it with a newly purchased refractor.

For this reason I have just changed the base to match and use them both.

In short as long as you have no use for the regular finder then should be fine, but if you want to use it or sell it then you will need to change it. The finders come with bases though and they are very easy to change.
