magnets

hi all
iv'e seen at star parties people getting good size magnets covering them then sliding them along there scopes for balance.....can you help me in an address or web site where to purchase one.for my little 8" dobbie

Most would come from the back of old speakers Peter.

Yep, what John said.
You can pick up old or busted speakers at the dumps shops for a couple of dollars each. Pull them apart to get the magnets out, slip the magnets into a thin sock, then attach.

Apparently there are great magnets in microwave ovens. They are strong enough that you can put stick-on plastic feet on them, so you don't mark the tube's paint, and they will still stick. I however have never found one and so am still marking the paint with a speaker magnet.

thanks for the quick replies,went with steven and ordered a 500g magnet from aussie magnets and should get it early next week..
