Yep, I reckon shipping would be as much as the purchase price

For me using a dome would take away much of the pleasant experience of being out under the stars

think you still need walls though or some sort of structure for the dome to sit on..having said that looks pretty interesting if it happens..didn't I read somewhere that these people-or some one associated- was looking at supplying some options for walls/framework as well

Let's see, 100" (2.5m) diameter, add say 250mm for packing across the diameter, that's 2.75m, 50" (1.25m) high so the shipping box is 2.75 X 1.5m, volumetric that's 2.75 x 2.75 x 1.5 x 4000 for shipping mass. That's 4.534 tonnes or 11.3 cubic metres.
Then add GST to the shipping costs as well. You go figure ...

Well, I didn't think this project would ever get to completion but here it is! Price in the States is good but getting it here would be a real drag
