Posting an image

I have a question about the images I post. It seems that all my images become embeded into the post rather than having the thumbnail attachment thingie happening. Clicking on it opens a popup rather than a separate tab, which means I can't scroll through all imagen in the post.

Why is this happening?

heh a lot of people ask how YOU are doing that!

The way to attach images is:

1. Post new reply / post new thread
2. Scroll down to "Manage Attachments"
3. Browse to the file on your local computer and click 'Upload".
4. Close the manage attachments window
5. Post the reply/thread.

I'm not sure what you're doing differently, but yours are always embedded and use the default vBulletin image browser instead of the IIS image browser.

Hmmm, my question is how NOT to do it :-\

OK the only thing I'm not doing is closing the manage attachments window before posting, but I don't think I ever did, and my earlier attachments worked as they should... I might try posting a pic then close and see if that makes a difference. Thanks Mike.

Are you using the 'Insert Image' icon in the WYSIWYG editor?

ah! That's how your doing it.

Don't use the paperclip icon in the wysiwyg editor. Once you've closed the 'manage attachments' window, just click submit.

You don't need to use the {ATTACH} bbcode to insert the image.

Mike, could you send a screen shot of the settings in the User CP for messages, please? I might have something ticked something, somewhere.

Don't use the paper clip to attach your image.

Use the button below, 'manage attachments'.

I must have ticked for the enhanced messaging a while back, and when it appeared I used the paperclip (I was attaching an image after all!).

I have had people ask me how I do it, it seems they want to do it as well, but I've found it nothing but annoying.

Yeh people like/want it because they can have the attachment at various places throughout the message, instead of all of them being at the bottom.

I prefer the IIS image browser

All well and good but it makes it difficult to browse all the images in the thread. If someone attaches the correct way than you can access all images through the browser.

Thanks again Mike.
