help needed showing folder names in XP

I did something the other week (don't know what it was) but now when I click on My Pictures in Thumbnail view (Win Exp or My Comp) none of the thumbnails have their name under them. It is only in My Pictures, all sub-directories are fine. I'm sure it is something simple that I have done by accident but be blowed if I can undo it.

Open to suggestions.

I cheated and went into Folder Options>View>Restore defaults. I've probably reset stuff I didn't want to but hey at least I can read the folder names now. Still interested in the right way to do it though.
