Did I just see a meteor ?

Just before 1am I was looking up at the sky and saw a bright trail go racing across the sky .. from south to north ..

Thought i may have seen my first meteor, but then I thought perhaps it was just a bright star and my head moving that makes me think maybe I imagined it.

Anyone else see it? (I'm in Sydney by the way).

Anyhoo, given this is the clearest night i've seen in a long long time, i'm heading out to see what i can see with my little scope. Probably see if I can check out the orion nebula.

I'll take that as confirmation and remember that night fondly as my first meteor sighting. Even if I was the only one who saw it, and it may have just been jupiter I saw wizz across my eyes as my head turned, puts a smile on my face, and that's why I love looking up at the night sky.
