Hi everyone,
Went to
ASWA Lunatiks event on 16-10-2010 and good time for all. Seeing conditions were fair to good unfortunately my eyes were not good and really struggled with focusing on 800 x 600 resolutions captures. Seeing went moderate to bad as i switched to moon shot and then went back to Jupiter 640 x 480 for the final part of the evening. As it would be expected seeing improved on the lower resolution.
Anyway capture 20,000 frames and from that created 18 frames stacked by splitting the 20,00 to 3000 blocks. For me is is a very complicated process so if there is any short cutting on creating animations help would be nice.
-First each 3000 were stacked, AVIStack has a really really good batch stacking feature, this process took 1 hour to complete.
-Wavelets applied to all, I use AVIStaack for wavelets while I use Registax for colour alignment and colour balancing, brightness and contrast.
-I then go back to AVIStack for slight adjustment of the histogram.
-As my mount is not perfect at the moment The alignment process was the hardest, each of the 18 frames canvas had to be adjusted to match the same size. While soing that adjusted the unsharp mask a tad more.
-I then use ppmcentre, wonderfault program and use it as much as possible, I hope to use Ninox one day once I work out commandline operations. I only just captured one of the moons in this process.
Finally I use Cyberlink Power Producer to combine the images into the animation.
Blimey that is a mouthful, I made a few errors during the process which stretched out the process a fair bit.
The final result -
