Am making a homemade weight system for an lx90. Pictures are attached of progress so far. Total cost to date is less than $8.00. Two pieces of scrap aluminium angle ($2.00) from local scrap yard cut with a hacksaw , filed , beaten into shape with a hammer against a 150mm pine post , drilled and finished with emery paper( crude but it works). Length of 5/16 steel stud , two domed nuts and two normal nuts ($5.60). Intend to attach weights to a threaded arm moving along threaded stud to give 3-D balance system.

have been back to scrapyard and obtained a piece of auminium box section and completed weight attachment . just got to find/make the weights. have attached a pic. only started this project yesterday . now up to less than $10

Nice looking system Philip. Cheap too. Any skin divers in your area? Why not 'mould your own' from lead belt weights?
Stu, I think you'll find that the original mounting screws were used. (for piggy back attachments etc). L.
wow looks quite proffessional. So when do you plan on going into full production with these?
I dont have an LX but if I did I would be thinking of doing similar.
Are the holes for attaching the bars there already or did you have to drill them? If drilled how do you stop the swarf going inside the tube?
Still the fabrication of this looks quite simple, could even make a mould to bend the aluminium into shape. Could make it with a press or by hand lever quite easily.
No need for concern 3 Holes are pre-drilled and fitted with screws on the LX90 top and bottom.
Looking at the pictures looks a nice simple design requiring minimal tools. Ideal for my DIY capabilities, if I ever mount my LX90 on a wedge could be the answer.
However one concern comes to my mind, if the weight is out at the end of the rod and at 90° from the bar with general movements and vibrations the nuts on the long threaded bar would work loose. If so would using say wingnuts as locknuts be the answer.
