50D test shot

Hi all,

I'm at home with a cold today, and took the opportunity to have a quick play with my new 50D and 15-85 EF-S IS USM lens during a break in the rain. This looks like a nice sharp lens, and the camera is great (although I'm still learning to drive it, as it's very different to my old Pentax!)

Anyway,
Here's a first image! Thanks for looking.

Cheers,
Stephen

Excellent pic. Ive been agonising on a new Canon DSLR and tempted by the 50D. It apparently has a plastic body, unlike the 40D. Does that bother you, does it feel right?.

Thanks Adam.

I've been thinking of switching to Canon for a while, and couldn't resist the current deals avauilable on the 50D!

Cheers,
Stephen

Thanks Fred!

I think you're confused with the new 60D. I believe the 50D has the same metal chassis as the 40D, whereas the soon-to-be-released 60D is all plastic (like the 550D). The 50D certainly feels great in my hands! And if you're quick you can pick up a great deal (I got the body for $899) because it is now out of production and the 60D will be available later this month.

Here's another image shot at the same time.

Cheers,
Stephen

Stephen.

Yes, your right, I was thinking of the 60D, but given the 50D price now, and the metal body, it seems a better deal than the 60D, although HD movies would be nice.
