I have struggled to get going with Avistack for a while... I caould run it but didn't really get my head around what I was doing

When adjusting the quality cut off slider, where is the number of frames to be stacked? Is it the number in the parentheses after the total number of frames?
It just seems a bit counter-intuitive to me... adjust the quality slider left to lower quality to stack less frames...
.
...or am I missing something still?
