Thomas Harriot - England's Gallileo?

A rather good piece in this month's "Astronomy" on this guy. POSSIBLY beat Gallileo to the punch but never published much of his findings.
Other mags have done articles on him over the last 18 months, but this piece is quite succinct and goes into his other ventures: symbolic Algebra, Anthropology, Natural History, Botany etc.
A good read for those interested in the history of Science.
