Must be a First - every Capital City in Australia!

I was amazed at the weather report on Telly tonight. The weather lady (Livinia Nixon) said with amazement that there is Rain forecast for Every Capital City in Australia tonight and tomorrow. I have never ever heard of this happening before!!!

Can't be too far wrong as there are 24 members and a heap of visitors in here at present.

Is it raining in your capital city at the moment? or wherever you are? (where are you?) It's pouring here! West of Ballarat.

I was just thinking the bad weather must be pretty wide spread to see so many on a Friday, mind you TVs pretty cra... as well.

Talked to my son in UK earlier they are having really early blizzard conditions and are preparing for a real bad winter.

On the other hand theres 'protests' in StPetersberg that its too warm and no snow.

Yet another thunderstorm here in Blue Mountains, cleared for now, just checked the radar seems to have moved out to sea. Just checked outside still clouded in but not raining. Ah well

I'm glad someone started a weather thread, 'cause I'm absoltutely .............. at the weather here! I got 10 minutes at the eyepiece last night before the cloud thickened - the first 10 minutes I might add since mid October because of cloud.

And tonight!!!! I can't believe it!!! I work every night bar Tuesday 'til around 10:30. Tonight has been clear, crystal clear mind you, all night. What do you reckon - I'm excited!!!!

I gets home, takes the pride and joy outside to cool while I clean myself up after working in a stiflingly hot kitchen all night - still crystal clear. You beauty!!!

15 minutes later............. I goes outside, grabs my 30mm sv ep to eyeball the Pleiades, and guess what? Yep, it's clouded over. Completely! I am dumbstruck!!!!! I just can't believe it. I had even taken my star maps to work to plan a star hop around Taurus and Orion .........

I am now sitting here with a very sad face, writing this to the only people in the world who will understand how I feel right now..

Btw, we have had very little rain up here in the tropics (simply a lot of cloud), as opposed to the SE corner of the state, which is experiencing some flooding atm.

Dave
PS: I usually sign off with 'cheers', but I can't bring myself to be that cheerful at the moment.

Sorry to hear about your Skies Dave
I am lucky enough to have clear skies here in Gove tonight.
The transparency is good, but the seeing only average.
Due in part to patchy high cloud I think, reducing the limiting magnitude.
Still .. managed a good look at M42
Could not easily see some other clusters to the north though.(M36,37,38)
Heres hoping tomorrow night is even better with a dark site trip planned with a few of the local lads.
Time for Bed !

Lots of cloud here too but nothing in the way of rain. All my young trees are wilting and the grass is brown.

They forcast storms all week but we didn't get nuthin!

Good for nothing weather. It's a dry, hot, cloudy sauna!

I love complaining about the weather!

Yeah no global warming!!!! Wettest November on record for SA. Cloud cover tonight yet again. December raining and cold. Seeing been inconsistent to last two years here.

Yeah no rain but cloud cover again. Couple of spots but we had 20 or so mm yesterday. Takes it to over 600mm for this year. It's cause I just spent 7k on equipment, or that CO2 I keep blowing off. Must hold my breath.

was at work last night and decided to look at the bom site.... a huge storm was right over my house 50km SE of where i was!
it was a scarey sight!
the rain came in dribs and drabs for the rest of the night. it was a good one tho.

tell you what, i dont mind the rain at all, but cant stand clouds when they dont produce rain, it seem like such a waste
