registax and fits files

Hi Guys

Am I the only one with this prob? Basically if I stack a series of fits files in registax 5 I end up with a totally black frame which obviously aint the desired result

hmmm...

I don't generally put FITS files into Registax, I use Registax to make 'em...

Are you sure they are truly black? Maybe they only look black till you stretch the histogram. I'm only thinking about how FITS files behave in IRIS, so I could be well off target...

Al.

As near as I can tell it's pure black to the eyes. I brought up the histogram and stretched with no visible difference. I played around with some capture settings in wxAstroCapture and tried the option of saving as fits files which appear to be black and white. Each frame seems to be quite good re quality tho so I kinda expected to see a lil more . I've pretty much gone back to capturing as avi's anyway or if using amcap then wmv's passed thru vlc media player's wizzard to transcode them which so far is giving me results
