"... While Hubble is the size of a bus, the new James Webb will be the size of a jetliner. "

What are they going to use to put all this stuff in orbit? That sure is going to take a few trips?

It will be going up in one piece and be situated in one of the Lagrangian points
at about 1.5 million kilometers from earth with no servicing required or possible.
Just Type in James Webb telescope in google for more info

Interesting to see if they got the optics right this time before they launch it.

Hubble was a good lesson.

Cheers Kev.

Ron, thanks for the update.

For those who don't know, James Webb (1906-1992) was NASA chief in the 1960s. His name is most commonly linked to the Apollo moon program.
An experienced attorney and businessman, it is said that he did more for science than any other government official.
The actual James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) will have a 6.5 metre diameter mirror and a sunshield the size of a tennis court.

Regards, Rob.
