LCD External Speakers Question

Hi Guys, we have just purchased a new LCD Flat Panel TV, and was wondering is it possible to connect external speakers to these units.

There are heaps of jacks on the back but it dosen't seem to have speaker jacks, any advice would be appreciated, thanks

Leon

Hey Leon,

we have ours connected via the AV surround sound decoder/receiver thingy. I think if you want surround sound that's the way to do it. Good it is too !

But, if you just have the stand alone tele, I think they come with a 'virtual surround sound' setting if you look through the on screen display 'sound' options.

Happy viewing.

You have to use an external amp and speakers

Leon,
You'll probably find sound comes out as a digital signal these days. My units here are connected via optic fibres instead of wires. Amplifiers are called receivers as they receive the digital signal and decode it into seperate channels. Hi Def TV sends in 5 channel surround while some bluray/dvd's are 7 channel. Get the wallet out

Leon,
Use the earphone jacks out and feed them to an external set of amplified speakers
