excellent service from Andrews Comms

Andrews advertises a 5 year warranty on any Skywatcher gear purchased from them and I had reason to avail of this warranty recently

I have had problems with my Eq6 since I bought it-mainly with regard to autoguiding; I tried everything, asked on every forum (including IIS)and got nowhere

finally I took the mount back to Andrews

Lee and Luke were great; they got their techo to look at the mount straight away , kept me informed and and t'he technician opened up a conversation directly with me. Turns out it wasn't the mount but the GPUSB cable. But they fixed it for me anyway. (I had tested the cable but apparently there was something wrong with them crimping that made the mount behave erratically and unpredictably )

anyway the mount is back and yesterday I autoguided for 3 or 4 hours as a test with no problem

so I am indeed very pleased with the service.. and happy to finally have a usable mount

Great to hear you have had a good outcome and back in buisness.

I am always grateful for the good advice and very prompt service / delivery from the crew at Andrews. I would recommend them to anyone.

I have always received good service from them as well. Glad to hear it worked out for you! I feel pretty luck to live near Andrews and Bintel who both provide great service IMO.

I've picked up a few things from them and they are always helpful and friendly over the phone.

Not to mention all 3 times I have placed an order it has been on my doorstep the very next day.

Nothing like ordering a new toy and having it in your hands ASAP

Top notch service, top notch experience and very sensible and logical approach to customer service. Sometimes I spend hours chatting to Lee about all manner of things as we compare notes as to tragedies and triumphs of service and value. Bought the Flex Dob from there recently and even though I rocked up 1 hour too early to pick it up, it wasnt a problem for Lee to make a special trip to get it for me and I felt like a VALUED customer throughout the time I was there.

If I had to rate my experience with Andrews Comms, out of 5 stars, I would have to say 6. Plain and simple.

Cheers

Chris

P.s. Forgot to mention, the price just cannot be beaten. But you all probably know that already.

They appear to have had fairly major delays in getting shipments of GSO branded spare parts over the last few months; I recently received a piece I ordered late last year which they had expected in a shipment that was delayed for some time..

It's good to hear about the good service from Andrew's Communications as I'm leaning towards them to purchase my telescope.

What are they like on postage/freight charges? I am looking at buying a 12" Dob.

I got the same scope as you from a shop in Perth, that was $350 cheaper. And the last time i ordered anything from them, they put the wrong postcode on it, and next day delivery turned into next week delivery.

but i am sure thats an isolated incident, in general i find them very helpful and chatty.

I've only purchased once from them, ED80 refractor with aluminium case, was delivered 2 days after ordering.
Freight charge was fair, no complaints really, so far so good

Always had excellent service from Andrews - quick postage too. Visited the store once and similarly made to feel like a "valued customer".

Thanks for that info Adam. I just have to hope that the bank approves my credit card limit increase.

No problems buying a scope from them some years back .. and I would again .. small gso bits ? .. I'd confirm they are in stock(more than twice ) before sending cash and enquire should the wrong part arrive eventually who pays the return freight .
