For Sale : 8'' (20cm.) F12 Refractor on eq. mount.

Hi all,
***Please note that the telescope and equatorial mount are located in north western Sydney (not Tasmania).

8 inch F12 tube assembly completely built by Barry Adcock master optician and optics designer from the Astronomical Society of Victoria. I have owned this since it was built in 2001.

Absolutely SUPERB Barry Adcock optics!

Telescope tube has rack and pinion focuser for 1.25'' or 2'' eyepieces.
Also has 8 x 50 straight through finder scope.

Mount is a large, painted modified Meade DS16 motor driven equatorial with heavy duty wheels on each of the 3 (specifically built) tripod legs.
Mount is not assembled at present.

Photo shows a 4 inch F15 guidescope. This item together with the Ken Dauzat Connecting Rings is available for purchase as a separate item if required.

Asking $3,500 or best offer (for refractor plus mount).

Pick up only or purchaser to organise and pay for own freight.

Hi everyone,
The 8'' F12 optics are a Fraunhofer design oil spaced doublet.
Barry Adcock imported the 2 x 8'' clear aperture glass blanks from a glass company located in Rhode Island U.S.A., then ground and figured the lenses to perfection.
He then secured them into an aluminium tube (with focuser) of his design and construction.
