My wife and I have been listening to Triple Jay - blasting out through the surround system in the lounge. We'll keep it rockin' until the end. Loving what we are hearing - a couple of 50 somethings having a good time! (Glad we aren't in the rain at the MCG, however!)

Impressed by Little Birdy - first time heard. Blis N Eso are lifting the roof on the MCG!

Of course, we were in our element with Hoodoo Gurus & Paul Kelly. Lookin' forward to Eskimo Joe, Icehouse, Split Enz, Jack Johnson ..... the list goes on and on! What a day!

My goodness - what a summer it has been for Australia.

They were on early, Leon. Heard them.

Looks like Jet are doing the "Phil Collins trick" from 1985, doing the MCG early and then flying to Sydney to do the SCG early evening.

Hey Eric mate, it's funny the mention the 50's something people like myself, we were at Phil's place, in Tassie and he, and his lovely partner put on a mixture of some 60's 70's and 80's music, I enjoyed it so much, He, Phil burnt a copy on the spot and now I have it at home as well, it brought back the good old days.

Been watching it all day....WOW....Switching between Channel V and Max. lol.
Hate to take a leak at the wrong moment (at each venue) and not find your mates on the way back...lol
OIL's, right on Eric.....! They haven't lost it......

Reminds me of the infamous Guns'nRoses Concert at Calder Park in '90 (or was it '91).
38 degrees, rain, thunderstorms, wind, mudslides and rock'n roll.
And no where to take a leak, you had to sweat it out.
Rain in both areas, bit ironic huh!

Hi

I hate to be a wet blanket.

While I appreciate the effort that went into organizing the concerts, the terrific roll up and the effort the well known performers put on I am afraid I can't stand pop concerts. Watching flashily dressed performers cavorting around a stage, strumming guitars and screaming out unintelligable words is not entertainment for me.

I belong to an older generation that was introduced at a young age to the great composers of the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, opera and Ballet. This of course produced an interest in this type of music. ie watching great singers standing still on the stage and singing unintelligable words.

Pop Music that is sold these days on quantity rather than quality does not impress me. However there still are some very good tunes and lyrics coming from the modern composers that are up there with the best of the great composers, just not enough.

My opinion of Petter Garret is that he should have stuck to singing and left politics to the even worse entertainers.
