Pentax EPs

Is there a place to buy Pentax XW EPs locally in Melbourne? Or do you have to order from overseas?

Kirk's Cameras in Ringwood sell them, but you might want to do some price comparisons between them and interstate and overseas sellers.

I rang a few places yesterday, Star Optics and Frontier optics, both interstate being in Qld and NSW respectively. For cost of shipping i was $22 by one and $12 by the other, so as a proportion of the total price its not a lot.

Pentax eps

If you call Kennedy CR the Aus Pentax distributor, who are in Melb, they can give you a camera shop who has an account with them and can get Pentax eyepieces for you.

EPs

Thank you. I was thinking of buying one more Pentax XW...i have a couple and love them. I'm from the U.S. and bought mine there....seems many astro products are more expensive here, over and above the exchange rate....but not all, and I wondered why that is the case...

I did price an xw through the local (large aus store front) camera shop .
While i was happy to cop a little more outlay for a local pick up ..when they finally got back to me .. it was a $200 increase ???.. on what I could
buy off any of the aus vendors ... I never did query that price further
They either got it very wrong or think I'm as dumb as I look

With all due respect but i had a terrible time when i visited York Optical on Flinders st. While im a beginner at this, they knew probably 10% of what I knew about the sky watcher brand which they are the agent. They did not even know that the Equinox range ever existed and there prices were over the moon!! im surprised they still survive!!

You are not the first to have had that experience. I have the same degree of surprise.

Helps if you know the real market price of an item and they may be willing to price match.

I bought a pentax xw from them over a year ago and I got $70ish off the sticker price just by asking.
