My First Astro Shots

Here are a couple of my first shots taken with a Logitech Quickcam Go -FE. A 2x Barlow using an 8inch (200mm) Bintel Newtonian. It was a fairly clear night for the Jupiter shots and a fair evening for the moon. I must say however that the Venus shot is dubious. I have not processed any of these and what you see is what I took on the relevant night. I still can not use Registax well. Even though one image was save in the Registax file it was still not altered. I always seem to get blurred or over lapping images when I align and stack. Even when I select images that are more or less in the same loci. Oh well lots more work to do and things to learn. I am Poud as Punch and I feel like a Cheshire Cat with these....
I hope these images have been successfully uploaded. Still new to computors.

Steven,

Glad to see the GRIN, the first of many here we hope.

No images showing up yet though....are they beyond the upload limits perhaps? Try a single small JPG file as a test.

Resize to maximum of say 700x700 resolution, save as JPEG with quality 80-90% (or 80% of whatever maximum number you can select).

Should do the trick. A good program to do this is Irfanview:

Second Try

Well here goes again. Maybe I tried to upload too many images so this time I will only put one image on. This is under the size limit, even if only by a little. Ok.. I click on "Manage Attachments and away I go......... Ok it is under 200KB at approx 15KB so I hope it works. I will post the rest when and if I get this right.
Another question is "How do I delete a previous post" which has been resolved. If I do that is? Do I leave it and eventually it is removed? Don't want to clog the system with what can only be described as garbage or redundant posts. StevenA

First Astro shot

Well it was probably nothing more than luck. I have not been able to reproduce it since. Something always happens Eh! Bad weather, seeing conditions, Pollution like the other night(everything tinted yellow/brown) Kids etc. Will keep trying however. Cant wait till Saturn comes around to a faverable position again. Unfortunately Deep Space imagary is still beyond me. Even with Andromeda above the horizon I can even see it with trees and building interfering. Cant wait to get out of city for weekend. Soon I hope. Somewhere that give a good veiwing of Northern skys. Thats the lot of living in the city isn't it? (Rhetorical). Thanks for you approval.

Snake valley

Eric, is there anything happening over the long weekend at Snake Valley. If so do they mind children. I am single father and have no one else to look after kids. Esp' as one is High Function Autistic. He is not reckless and will not break things as most people believe. Rejected from becoming a member of an Astro club because of this fact. Stupid I know. He is reclusive and shy. The worst he does is whing to go home. Doesn't like his routines disrupted. My daughter is "normal" (Umm! You know what I mean, No one say anything about this adjective. It's a bad denotation with varying conotations, but it still an adjective.) Thanks for feed back.
