Jupiter + Venus conjunction - 31st Jan

Knowing that it would be cloudy for the next X days, I took the advantage of a reasonably clear morning yesterday (31st) to capture what I could of the conjunction.

Obviously they're not that close, compared to how close they'll be tomorrow! As predicted, it was cloudy today (and raining).

I just hope I get a clear morning on the 4th or 5th.

These were taken at Woy Woy, off some park I don't know the name of.

Canon 350D + Sigma 17-70mm lens, f/4, on fixed tripod. Various exposures mainly 4-15 seconds @ ISO200-400.

Thanks for looking.

Great photos Mike. I like #1 and #3. The water, jetty and overhanging trees really make it IMHO.

Photos

From a professional artist (not photographic) but one who has, ahem, a (small) international reputation for sculpture and multi-media works, I can certainly make one considered comment Mike - some bloody good compositions fella! Excellent stuff!

Cheers, Darryl.

Nice shots mike, as we've come to expect. Just to buck the trend, I like #2 best.

Thanks very much for your kind comments. I love this type of photography - combining landscope photography with astrophotography.

That's why i'm so disappointed that it's going to be cloudy on Monday and Tuesday! :grr:

Gotta keep trying to find new and interesting (and beautiful) places for these morning and evening conjunction type shots.
