MaximDL plugin - MultiGuide

For users of MaximDL, here is a really cool plugin (free). Its called multiguide and allows you to select more than one guide star to guide on - simultaneously!

It takes the average error of multiple stars providing greater accuracy than a single star. I've used it twice with good results. Noticed less correction being made, but nothing quantitative. Will need to give it more time.

Anyway, its here if you want to try it (obviously you need MaximDL first)

Time stops for no-one.

Seriously, if you want to have a good handle on autoguiding, I highly recommend reading the attached document by Jim McMillian (the master mind behind multiguide). It will certainly boost your knowledge in this area if you're a little confused or want to know more such as S/N ratios for guiding, guidestar selection criteria and many other items. I use Jim's autoguiding methodologies through ACP.

Enjoy
