Processing Tutorial
I've been working on a processing example, using the real data from one of my good sessions last month.
I've put it on my website, but you have to know the URL, cause it's not "official" as yet, until I get a few other people to have a look at it and comment.
The address is:
http://www.acquerra.com.au/personal/...ssing-example/
I'd appreciate it if you guys could have a look and let me know what you think.
regards, Bird

That looks a brilliant tutorial. I especially like the way you do it. I will have a better read when time is a little more on my side.

Just had a read through, looks really nice Bird. Apart from me using colour images, and not doing so much in AstraImage, it's nice to know that my registax steps are pretty much identical to yours
Great article.

Fantastic Bird, thanks for that. It's certainly helped me understand what it is I'm trying to do, plus give me some new avenues of thought. Great stuff.
I hope you're ready for all the questions now I'll start the ball rolling.
1. (of possibly many) Can Astroimage be used with colour images or does the image need to be broken up into its seperate colour channels?

It can use colour images (I use it). I first to a "Process->Split colour planes" to separate into RGB channels, then do the LR on each channel ,and then recombine.

Anthony, my copy of astraImage does not have "FFT Filter" under the Filter menu.
What version are you using?
I've got 2.01 SE.

My copy is 2.0MAX, evaluation version. Maybe mine is a more recent version?
I'm still waiting to hear back from www.phasespace.com.au to see if they are still in business or not...

I'm saving the images using screen-grabbing :-)

I wanted to buy the real version, but I can't get to their website. Looks like they've blocked access from my ISP (internode).
I've sent them an email from another machine on a different network, lets see if they respond.

l downloaded Registax but the processing page sits about 1/4 the way outside the screen to the right hand side. any ideas, has it got anything to do with which windows programme you run?.

Can you move it around and then resize the window? Even if it's too big for the screen you should still be able to grab it by the title bar and move it so that you can reach the corners to resize the window.

Registax 3 needs 1024x768 resolution doesn't it?

it's not that the screen is to big, it's the same size as the computer screen only it sits 1/4 of the way to the right hand side and will not move. l have no other problems with the computer at all, running windows XP.

Mick, Can't you click/drag on teh title bar to bring it back to the middle of the screen?
Anthony, why do you resample 1.5x, and then reduce by the same amount as the final step? What does this achieve, in your opinion? Is it so the features are bigger for fine tuning of wavelet/FFT processing/RGB aligning?
