A Bit Fresh Last Night

Hi Guys,

Last night I tried out the Canon 300mm F/2.8 with a Canon 1.4x Extender with some good results i might add, it transformed the Lens into a 420mm very fast lens.

As you will see from the pic,s below, it's performance never faltered even is sub zero temps,

Now you see what we Ballaratians have to put up with just to get a decent image.

Cheers Leon

P.S. as you can see i drink heap sof coffee

It was icy here last night too, went out at 11.00 pm as the moon was setting, drove to my dark site, the local copper pulled me over too, got home at 3.30 this am, I was waiting for Andromeda to rise but the dew overwhelmed me, everything was ice, car, scope, dew shield, mirrors were all dewy.

I shared your cold air, Leon, up at Snake Valley, but didn't have a warm house to retreat to - my coffee thermos was struggling - last cups were decidedly cool! Thank goodness Ken had the heater full on in the club room - great when I retreated there at 4:30 for a few hours sleep. But no fun trying to get the ice off the car windscreens, windows, mirrors at 8am so I could drive back to Melbourne!
