From the Edge of the City

Hi Folks,
Here are two photos I took recently having sought out a 'darker' site (as opposed to a dark site) compared to the backyard. This was just past the edge of the light dome and is approximately 10 times darker than where I live. The original intention was to find somewhere to see low enough to capture the Veil nebula (23 degrees) but then I went back to see what the anteater would look like.

Details:
Samyang f/2 135mm @f/2.8 with ZWO lens adaptor & AZGti EQ-modified.
Photo 1: Veil- 2 hours, 1 hour each of 2 min subs using fast FR 6nm Ha & O3 filters (533MM Pro). Starless version.
Photo 2: Anteater- 3 hours of 2 min subs UV/IR -cut (533MC Pro).

Cheers
Gary

Wow very nice. Especially like the anteater - beautiful colour in that dust this is only possible from really dark sky. Nice work!

Thanks David. I was planning on comparing this to both darker and brighter skies but the weather has reverted back to normal.
