Hi All. At the risk of being labelled a serial pest I to share some lunar images from last Sunday evening, the 11th. Had mostly clear skies and above average seeing though it was very dewy again, seems they go hand in hand.
Used the 180mm Mak, HEQ5, ZWO290mm, 23a filter. Best 25% / 2000 frames, SharpCap, Autostakkert, Registax.
#1 The Rheita Valley. With Mare Australe on the limb
#2 Piccolomini, Rupus Altai, Catherina, Cyrillus, Theophilus.
#3 Rima Aridaeus
#4 Posidonius, Atlas , Hercules, Endymion and Mare Humboldtianum on the
limb.
I realise that these objects / regions have been imaged a gazillion times but I am trying to get some different framing of these regions that may be different and interesting.
wow mate these a fantastic images - wonderful detail and the processing is spot-on and very natural. And I agree there's always something new to see even when imaging the same features. Whether it be on a different phase or illumination it always seems to catch my attention in a different way.
Thanks for sharing!
I agree with Dave; Subtle variations in light can make all the difference and give a different perspective on the detail. Framing really adds to these images.
WOW, who would label you a pest sharing such amazing images?
Surely no one on this forum.
I can even see in one of the images where an irate visitor keyed the surface.
As for regions being imaged a gazillion times, I'm sure many of the features of the moon have but there's a lot of satisfaction in getting great results yourself and you've certainly gotten great results.
Thank you very much for your encouraging comments guys, I'm pretty pleased with the results, probably the better lunar images I've captured. It's nice when the heavens align in your favour, I did catch some other images on the night.
Leo, I have read about your difficulties with your son and there is not much I could say that others haven't already but hope everything works out for you.
