15th Sept Sunspots and large prom.

15th Sept. Had to wait a few hours for clouds to clear before taking these two images of the sun today. A rough sky. First image is at 540 nm to show the sunspots. Second image is at 656 nm (Ha) to show the large prominence on the SW limb. Both images are single exposures with a Canon 550d camera. The active regions are numbered. I estimated the prom to be 75,000 km high.

Love the sunspots image, a very nice scattering across the disc, the large prom is certainly spectacular too .
