Better than a birthday.

Today is a Big deal for me...

Two years ago right about this time I set out on the biggest journey of my life...

For It was about this time I was getting ready for the operation to remove my thiroid due to cancer within...hope was not in huge supply.

No point in details and my mind has blanked out so much thank goodness...

So two years on...wow..just wow..best two years of my life..I have never been happier...never..every every new day is sheer blish and joy ..even with the recent debilitating back pain it was still wonderful ... I have a place right in the back where I go to be happy...so even then it is a wonderful life...

Thanks to everyone for the support ..the list is too long ..near hundreds I expect ..well seems that way in hospital..

I am just so lucky..and every now and then I get a little reminder ( like these lastcfour weeks) to take not one single thing for granted and keep having perfect days and perfect nights and perfect thoughts and ambitious hopes and still have dreams to work towards...

There is not a luckier man in all of history..me.. I am the luckiest..and certainly the happiest.

From the absolute master of Posititivity that really means a lot to me Ron ...thank you I am proud to gain your respect on this one...it has really been a funny night thinking all about this and how such adversity gave me more out of life than anything before it.,..Over the years I went through many situations that all I could say to myself to keep going was " This is just another trial sent to build your character" and somehow tonight I could look back and see I needed those small steps to be able to manage this one and somehow see it as good luck and be given even more from life than all the blessings that I have been showered with up to this point....I am not good with the drugs ( gone from zero to a small box the size of a brief case) and I suspect the opiates and the steriods act upon me of course but I do think my euphoria is somehow real ...well of course it is to me...

I hope you are going well and I want you to know you have been one the folk I have looked up to as ...well there is no other way to say it honestly..as a roll model..a man's man is the way that I would put it...and I have benefited greatly watching your measured and sensible approach around here over many years now.

You keep on keeping on as well.

Sincerely thank you.

Alex

Thank you Alex, for sharing such profound, powerful and uplifting insights into the nature and meaning of your lived life.

I recall a saying by Rumi (13th-century poet):

"The wound is where the light enters"

It seems much light has entered your life through the suffering you have endured, such a paradox to our ingrained ways of thinking.

Best wishes and be well

Dennis

Well Leon...you have heard folk say." It is all in your head"?....That is sortta true ... things just " are"..not good or bad, fair unfair, right or wrong...they just "are"...my cancer to me was not good or bad, it was not fair or unfair, it was not right or wrong...and so I had no demons to fight..and able to look at all the around me..the doctors, nurses, wardsmen, cleaners, other patients, family and friends...there are so many and they are all there for you and care for you...and so there can be no room for false judgement that blinds you to the sheer wonderfulness of this new journey and how you can appreciate more than you ever thought possible...Un fortunately we are all raised to think there is more after death and somehow we forget that irrespective of what may come after death our current life must treasured and so that means to never waste time on a destructive thought or to indulge a negative emotion...the negatives, the worry, falling for " it's just it not fair" trip, or its "bad" etc...these things are what take real life away...if you have 24 hours tomorrow every waking moment must not be wasted...and so..no judgement on good or bad ..fair or unfair..

It is the only thing that is important ..and no matter how it goes ... we each only have one day....today.....the past and the future do not exist...

So work on your attitude and just enjoy the journey.

Alex

With all the negativity going on right now, it's easy to get down and disheartened. Alex's words and attitude are one hell of an inspiration to everyone out there.

Thanks Alex, and keep on keeping on, as they say.

Steve...the negativity going on is now a business...It really is..liar web sites abound and they pump fear, anger and hate out on a daily basis because sadly so many folk just can not and will not accept the fact that we live in the best time in history ever.

..just look back ...once wars were just routine...an annual event where one city state..or village..or small country even would declare war on their neighbours to gain the spoils of war and slaves...think of the deaths..you think war is limited to the first and second world wars...sure they stand out but once war was all over...normal life...

Freedom...how free was anyone 300 years ago...ignorant, uninformed etc

Then disease...heck when I was a kid there were just so many things that could get you...and go back another hundred years...my my..the infant mortality rates were terrible..

Do you realise infant mortality in England improved 80 % simplly because kids started drinking tea..think about that...and why?....hmmm boiled water.

Then money..everyone these days grizzle about money...they have no idea...the price of some luxury has gone up and their throat seems cut...

My question is.. what is wrong at the moment where do folk see any problem?

Really what is that oes not pale in insignificance to the rest if history...

We have our cars, phones, endless food, the best housing ever, overseas holidays great medicals...more toys for than we can even know are available..you can just keep adding to the list of fantastic stuff...and education..not only from school but the internet.

But just look at the news or any liar web site...China to go Bankrupt in 28 days..what a head line...really why do gullible fools fall for this rubbish...and every month something new..but idiots forget that it was over 28 days ago and China still has not gone bankrupt because now they focus on some new lie.

And what really upsets me folk just swallow any crap they hear...
With complete disregard that a sure sign of a liar is the lack of back up...

Seriously what real problems exist?
