What Just Happened

Went into the Samsung Shop to purchase a new phone .. old S10+ has been in the wars and I have been procrastinating about buying a new phone .. finally bit the bullet, metaphorically speaking that is.

I was researching the Galaxy Fold phone ... all about the screen size .. and my crappy eye sight.

Thought I had convinced myself but then I met 'D' .. the young salesman at the store. I asked about the Samsung Fold but somehow, we ended up discussing the Samsung S23 Ultra. Wanna guess what I walked out the store with?

Either I am finally succumbing to age or that kid pulled a Jedi Mind Trick .. or he is an up and coming Steve Jobs.

Up selling. They have targets to meet with phones they have in stock that make the most margin for them. Did you try the Telstra Shop? Shop around before you front up.

Not much of an up-sales man. If you bought the base model. He probably saved you $50.

I buy second hand phones mostly, last one a Samsung S8 with a pre-cracked screen.
Disability pension doesn't allow for new phones at $1K plus. It works for what I want.
I could replace the screen myself and I have a friend who owns a technology shop in Young, NSW and he's offered to do it for the price of the parts.
I have enough trouble paying my electricity bills and keeping a 30 year old Falcon (finances not choice but I do love my old car) on the road so it will suffice as is.
I carry it more for security if I break down than use it, other than regularly texting a younger sister it's more a paperweight.
